030: Genecia Alluora Luo and the Soul Rich Woman

Who is Genecia?

Genecia Alluora Luo is the founder of Soul Rich Woman, and former beauty queen turned business coach and maven who now works with businesswomen to equip them with the right tools and knowledge to excel in their industry of choice.

As an entrepreneur, Genecia has learned the ins and outs of starting a business from the ground up in the fields of e-commerce, co-working spaces, beauty and F&B. Her expertise also includes using technology to operate her business and work with different women regardless of their location. She is based in Singapore.

Quotes from Genecia

I believe that success isn’t about glorious wins, it’s about behind-the-scenes work that you do with others that matters. It’s about helping others keep their focus on their goals and stay motivated enough to do their best to realize their potential. So basically my vision is to lay the groundwork for other women’s success and then to take a step back to let them shine as well. (4:28)

As a serial entrepreneur it’s that constant embracing of change and really having the clarity to want to do something new not for the sake of doing it but to participate fully so that you could leverage and bring the business and knowledge that you have accumulated and that I have accumulated over the years to put into this new business to grow to the next level. (5:33)

I personally think that having the courage to do what you want to do and in spite of your self-doubts, take action and have commitment with it because a lot of times, we are all in our comfort zones. We are all in this box that we kind of put ourselves in because the glass ceiling is pretty much the same concept.  (9:58)

What You’ll Learn

  • Genecia’s humble beginnings and how each venture (such as beauty contests, skin care, coaching and consultancy) she entered became a progression for both personal and business growth.
  • Challenges of reaching and engaging an online audience of mostly Asian women in her community due to the context of the conservative culture. She’ll only get “likes” or comments after they’ve observed a handful of her social media posts first.
  • Her commitment to choosing courageous action steps to overcome perceived limitations, such as fears and doubts, by writing these out in list form and asking what’s the worst that can happen if you choose action. Also how to envision your success from where you are now to where you want to be.
  • How she sets intentions and uses visualization techniques for the day during her morning routine for greater success and productivity.
